I HAVE A DREAM

PART II

A SOLUTION FOR THE
AFRICAN AMERICAN
COMMUNITY

IN 5 STEPS

STEP 1: THE VISION

Dr. Martin Luther King’s most famous statement “I Have a Dream” was a simple yet powerful proclamation, that in four short words explained the first step in the alchemical process of creation. The key to change is seeing it first in your mind’s eye. “The most powerful force in life is the force of vision . . . when you can see what is possible, and believe that it can come to pass, it makes you capable of doing the impossible.” Dr. Myles Munroe

Many have rightly taken to the streets in protest during these times and are doing all that they believe is within their power to affect change. We advocate for and encourage participation in activism, but we also believe that it must be coupled with the most powerful tool for change that one has within one’s arsenal. It is located right there between your ears; and you don’t even have to leave your home to use it: the mind!

Thoughts have tremendous power! Albert Einstein said that “the most powerful force there is, is the imagination,” the ability to see a clear vision with the mind. Using your mind in the process of creation can be the ultimate liberator. The manifestation of all dreams begins with a thought.

The creation of “all that is” began with a thought. Thoughts are energetic. Thoughts create reality. Thoughts, especially used en masse, can create reality on a grand scale and be the ultimate force for the manifestation of change. Thought and visualization are the keys to manifesting anything that you desire, for they produce the energy that creates the very circumstances that enables your vision to manifest.

The nature of pure activism, though effective, is to consistently concentrate on fighting against what you don’t want. To achieve your goal, this must be balanced with dual concentration and a strong emphasis on what you DO want. This must be foremost in any action plan for true change. Once that which is egregious is recognized, that which is your ideal must be visualized in detail within the mind’s eye. This sets an energetic path towards the formation and manifestation of your dream into reality, which no man can interrupt.

When you concentrate and create a detailed vision of what you DO want, you create a new stream of energy and a magnetic force that forms the circumstances that brings your vision to life. It is the law of the universe. Nothing can stop it. The world that we live in is built through a process of thought creation. If you consistently see the vision of the dream, it will manifest itself as you envisioned it into the world. It’s important to note and realize that having the vision and seeing it consistently is the most potent element, given by the divine, to manifest any change that is desired.

GETTING DOWN TO BUSINESS: THE FIRST STEP IS A SOLID VISION!

The first step in the alchemical process of creation is the vision. The first step in the process for the African American race is to establish what the actual vision for the race is! The following questions must first be answered:

  • What does the end-goal look like?
  • What gains do we want to make as a people?
  • How, specifically, do we want to see the world changed?
  • What should we see in our mind’s eye to create this change?

These questions are important, because to create with the greatest success, it is important to visualize with CLARITY. It is important for the vision to be defined.

Any group of people gathered with a purpose must have a common vision to reach their goal. It is the concentration on the end goal that gets you there, despite what is going on around you, or what the world may be showing you at any given time.

“Only by seeing what is not yet here can we bring something new, creative and exciting into existence.” Dr. Myles Munroe

STEP 2: SINS FROM THE PAST – BREAKING THE MENTAL CHAINS!

SINS FROM THE PASTWe have to heal the wounds within the psyche of the African-American individual who has undoubtedly spent a lifetime of living through systemic racism, who is constantly being sent subliminal messages of inferiority and has had to live a life with the weight of hate and suspicion on his/her back.

As a race, African Americans have been suffering the pain of abuse for the past 400 years. The psychological trauma of physical and mental slavery has saturated our skin down to the deepest layers. We do not know ourselves apart from it. If we listen, we can still hear the cries of our ancestors. We can see and feel the ghost of their bodies murdered, jailed, enslaved, whipped and desecrated. Our slave ancestors, born on this land, were destined to live in rags and labor from birth to death. That trauma has been passed down, if just subliminally, through generations and perpetuated by society. The idea of being chained and held back vibrates to the core and affects us through to today. One could say that it seems there are still invisible chains clamped around the neck of the African American. Below I share a story of how a psyche can be affected by limitation:

I had a neighbor who had a dog that he’d put outside during the day. He would attach the dog to a leash clamped to the ground, and place a chain collar around the dogs neck. Every time the dog lunged at a bird or tried to chase a passing car, he was always pulled back by the leash and chain. This happened repeatedly. Then one day, the owner put the dog outside in the same spot but didn’t put the chain on him. The dog lunged as usual, but only went as far as he could go, as if the chain were still on his neck. The dog was trained in limitation, and once the limitation was removed from his neck, he would only go so far, before he stopped himself.

. . . WE SHOULD
RE-IMAGINE OURSELVES AS A RACE THAT IS STRONG, SUCCESSFUL, UNITED, INDEPENDANT AND ABUNDANT . . .

. . . WE SHOULD
RE-IMAGINE OURSELVES AS A RACE THAT IS STRONG, SUCCESSFUL, UNITED, INDEPENDENT AND ABUNDANT . . .

. . . THIS VISION CHANGES THE ENERGY OF VICTIMHOOD, WHICH ONLY PERPETUATES THE CYCLE OF VICTIMIZATION.

. . . THIS VISION CHANGES THE ENERGY OF VICTIM-HOOD, WHICH ONLY PERPETUATES THE CYCLE OF VICTIMIZATION.

I believe that to a certain extent, chains are still wrapped around the psyche of the African American race at different levels. The question we need to ask ourselves, is how do we perceive ourselves? How would we describe the African American race? Though the experience of oppression is real, the truth is that the only limitations we truly have are the ones that we choose to accept. We no longer have chains around our necks except for the chains we allow to remain within the psyche. We have to go beyond the boundaries we have set for ourselves that lay deeply buried there.

We must see ourselves as having the ability to be as successful and abundant as any other community or race of people. This is essential to the uplifting of the community and mankind. At this point in our journey, it shouldn’t matter what any outside source has to say. We should re-imagine ourselves as a race that is strong, successful, united, independent and abundant. That vision changes the energy of victim-hood (which only perpetuates the cycle of victimization) to a path of success. This is not asking that present and past circumstances be denied. It’s just an exercise in not allowing the sins of the past to affect the potential richness of the future.

Acknowledge the past, as it is imperative to know where you came from. However, if you are going to rail against the injustices of society, couple that with seeing the race standing on its own, as successful, vibrant, living in abundance and strong. The energy behind this vision can carry you to that place.

The right thoughts, visions, declarations and beliefs create new realities. It’s all about understanding how to use the innate power of the mind for change!

STEP 3: UNITY!

You don’t need a lot of text and commentary to know that in order for a group to succeed, they must be united towards a common goal. A unified effort is essential.

My father was a man who was raised during the depression era. He served in World War II and went on to become one of the first African Americans to be hired as an engineer by a major American corporation. He then went on to become another statistic by becoming one of many Black men, billy-clubbed and beaten by police officers in Philadelphia. His offense? Parking on the wrong side of the street.

My father had opinions about many things. One day he was looking out the window and he turned to me and said, “You know, there are two races of people who have been victimized and demonized throughout history, even going all the way back to the Bible: the African American and Jewish races. The Jewish race seems to be highly successful. They appear to be unified. They support each other’s businesses and understand the power of unity. I never hear of Jewish people shooting each other down in the streets.

We’ll never get to the “mountaintop” until we understand that respect for each other and unity is essential. We drink the Kool-Aid of those who oppress us when we have no respect for each other, to the extent that a brother shoots another brother down in the streets. If we are to “get to the mountaintop,” this kind of behavior must cease.”

Well said. Black on Black crime is an abomination to the African American community. In order for the community to rise and prosper, UNITY is essential. A great effort is needed to get to the heart of the issues. All things are possible when one takes on a challenge. Heal the wounds. Get to the root of the problem, then find effective ways to fix it.

As inspiration, I’d like to shed light on a group of extraordinary people. The African American community of the early 1900’s known as the Black Wall Street of Tulsa Oklahoma, is a prime example of success in unity. Though the town was decimated by a group intent on aligning themselves with demonic forces, we can aspire to carry on the community’s extraordinary legacy of success, by understanding and practicing the power of unity.

STEP 4: ESTABLISHING A CENTRAL COURSE OF ACTION

A strength has been found through difficult circumstances. The murder of George Floyd, though beyond ghastly and horrific, did shine national as well as international flood lights on the reality of the brutalization of the African American in America. The fact that our voices can no longer be silenced brings us to a divine pivot point, where we can demand and self-create extraordinary change.

It all starts with the vision. However, the magnitude of the change that is necessary and desired, requires nothing less than having the community come together as a whole. Separate groups, individual activist, intellectuals and leaders must come together specifically to establish a central vision and course of action for the advancement of the African American community.

What is necessary, is to pinpoint and agree upon the problems that need to be addressed. We can then establish a prime vision and goal, and create a solid plan of action for getting there.

STEP 5: CONSISTENT EFFORT – SEEING IT THROUGH TO COMPLETION

SUNRISEAs we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. We cannot turn back.” Martin Luther King, Jr.

Martin Luther King took great risks by being one of the most powerful, tenacious and effective activists in the history of America. He was truly a messenger for justice and equality and was undoubtedly sent by a great spiritual force to dispense the light of truth to a nation darkened by hate.

It is the inalienable right of ALL Americans to live on these lands and prosper. For the African American, the destructive force of prejudice and hate clearly mars our society still, as the struggle for equality continues. We must always hear the echo of the voice of Doctor King saying, “. . . we must always march ahead, we cannot turn back.”

Throughout history we have consistently gone in and out of periods of protest imbued with the energy and fire of change, but the in-between times must be charged with equal amounts of passion in order for us to reach the mountaintop.

The last step of this five step solution is that we see the good fight through to completion, until the promised land is not a dream, but the world in which we live in.

Please see THE MOUNTAINTOP COALITION below, created by founder Jonna Gill. The purpose of this group is to bring together great African American minds from all walks of life, to establish a vision and chart a definitive course for the advancement of the African American community in America and in the world.

“I’VE BEEN TO THE MOUNTAINTOP.” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

THE MOUNTAINTOP CONSORTIUM

A COMING TOGETHER TO ACHIEVE A COMMON GOAL!

The term “CONSORTIUM” is the denotation for a group formed when two or more people, factions, etc., agree to work together in a partnership to achieve a common goal.

The groups founder, Jonna Gill, explains that she named this group THE MOUNTAINTOP CONSORTIUM, in remembrance of Dr. King’s reference to having been to the Mountaintop, and also to acknowledge that, our journey has not yet been made complete. We must continue to the apex. We are standing at a pivotal point in the history of the African American in America, where we are feeling the energetic pull of a new day. This is the perfect time to gather and unite our forces and work together as one to manifest a common vision for the 21st century.”

Jonna’s goal is to gather the great minds in the community, (in all areas of life, including sports, politics, entertainment, journalism, science, activism, education, law, etc.), to come together for the purpose of carving out a thorough vision for the African American community, and to lay down foundational steps necessary to reach the goal.

FIRST CLARIFY THE VISION, THEN CHOOSE THE ROAD. Jonna expresses the importance of seeing and clarifying the vision and then choosing the road(s) necessary to reach the destination. She also believes that activism must be married to the use of the power of the mind to manifest our goals.

Jonna is currently reaching out to the community and is hosting a series of Zoom calls to discuss the components of her five step program: I HAVE A DREAM PART II: A SOLUTION FOR THE AFRICAN COMMUNITY. In addition, Jonna is currently teaching how to effectively use the power of the mind to affect change and how correct intentional thought creation can merit results surpassing expectations.

If you have a desire to participate in THE MOUNTAINTOP CONSORTIUM’s Zoom sessions, please fill out the contact form below, mention your interest in THE MOUNTAINTOP CONSORTIUM, and we will contact you with meeting dates and times. We will also be posting these meetings on our events page.

“In order to manifest the greatest outcomes, activism should be married to the use of the power of the mind to affect change.

Vision and belief create reality. If you are trying to reach a goal, it’s not necessary for you to concern yourself with concentration on how it’s going to happen. Your main concern should be seeing the dream in your mind’s eye, as if it has already happened.

This type of thinking causes circumstances to readily fall into place, enabling you to reach your goal.”
